SOIL IDENTIFICATION & PERC TESTING
August 7, 2008 Rogers Farm, Rural Lincoln, Nebraska
This outstanding soils training program, approved for 6 PDH [ceu], will feature presentations on soils morphology and waste water treatment impacts. It will include presentations on waste water constituents, factors influencing water movement through soils. Also presented will be the use of “perc testing” to design and develop onsite waste water treatment systems. Instructors include Dr. Mark Kuzila and Dr. Steve Comfort, members of the School of Natural Resources at UNL and Terri Jakoubek an owner of Raymond Contracting, Inc. a certified contractor. The program will begin with sign in at 8:00 a.m. CDT and training at 8:30 a.m. The program will conclude at approximately 4:00 p.m.
UNDERSTANDING ONSITE WASTEWATER TREATMENT OF SEPTAGE & TOUR OF LINCOLN WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY
August 21, 2008 Lincoln, Nebraska
This program, approved for 6 PDH [ceu] will include discussions of “special waste permits” as well as presentations regarding the technical aspects of the operations of a municipal wastewater treatment facility, treatment and collection operations, handling of pumper wastewater loads, chemical and scientific aspects of treatment and special programs. Also, presentations on pumper equipment will be included. Following classroom activities a detailed tour of facilities and equipment will emphasize the lessons learned in class. Instructors include members of Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department and the Lincoln Wastewater Treatment System. The program will begin with sign in at 8:00 a.m. CDT with training at 8:30 a.m. The program will conclude at approximately 3:45 p.m.
BASICS OF ONSITE WASTE WATER SYSTEMS #2
September 19 at Holdrege or September 30 at York
This program, approved for 6 PDH [ceu] will include training to advance certified onsite professional skills and knowledge making participants aware of changes in the industry, improve understanding of how best to design, install and maintain systems in various situations and physical conditions. Included will be presentations about “alternative systems” which are available and used from time to time for special needs projects. Basic knowledge will be reviewed and important practice skills will be examined. The program will be conducted by Troy Huffman, Environmental Health Specialist with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. The program will begin with sign in at 8:30 a.m. CDT with training beginning at 9:00 a.m. The program will conclude at approximately 4:15 p.m.
NOTES: You must include your check with the completed registration form and all registrations must be postmarked no later than ten days prior to the event for which you are registering. Cancellations received for any event will be fully refunded if received not less than three days prior to the event. Detailed directions to program locations and hotel accommodations which may be available should you wish will be furnished with registration confirmation.
