About the Speaker
John Thomas, Executive Director of the Washington Onsite Sewage Association
John is currently the Executive Director for the Washington Onsite Sewage Association and has held that position for 16 years. He is also a trainer and the Training Director for the OSS education program in Washington. He holds a B.S. Degree in Environmental Earth Sciences from Northern Michigan University.
In his role as Executive Director, he is responsible for the development and delivery of new and ongoing programs for the Washington Onsite Sewage Association that include the creation of training and learning resources for industry, the public and regulatory communities relating to the Onsite industry. In addition to industry related technology training for Design, Installation and Maintainer’s, he has developed several safety focused training resources that are specific to the Onsite industry under both Federal OSHA Susan Harwood and Washington SHIP (Safety Health Investment Program) grants. He is the principle trainer for WOSSA for Industry related safety issues including; Confined Space Entry, Excavation and Trenching and Pathogen Exposures for Workers in Onsite and OSHA Focus Four for Onsite.
